Bracken Parkhouse

29 September 2025

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well with your equine partners.

Rodger and Jack have been very good boys recently. Rodger competed in the Advanced Medium Music class at the Petplan Area Festivals championships at Sheepgate in August. He really tried hard for me even though it is a fairly new level for us both, so we are still learning. We managed to pull together a +65% test to finish 3rd, but only the top 2 go through to the finals in October.

Also in August was the Under 25s Championships at Sheepgate, Rodger was first up early in the week with another Advanced Medium freestyle, again we finished 3rd with 66%, so a slight improvement on our score.

Jack attended Sheepgate U25s too, making his debut at Prelim freestyle. To our total amazement he won the class on a whopping score of +78%, what a total dude he was.

Jack had qualified for the British Riding Clubs National Dressage Championships at Lincoln, but was sadly not well enough to attend as he suffered an allergic to something. I was really sorry for him, as he was going so well and I think he would have produced some really nice work and got some good scores.

This aside, he is now feeling better than ever and I am looking to get him qualified for the British Dressage winter regionals, which we are well on our way to doing. Rodger will be aimed at the Petplan Area Festivals at Advanced Medium.

I have also been riding a beautiful black horse owned by Lindsey McDonald called Just Black and we have just gained a wildcard to ride at the Petplan Area Festival Finals this week which is very exciting.

Looking forward, Rodger will be attending Aintree High Profile Show in October.  This is our favourite show of the year, so off on holiday shortly to Liverpool. I will let you know how we get on.

Take care,

From Bracken, Rodger and Jack xxx
