Hello everyone,
Well, what a busy couple of months we have had.
Shortly after my last blog we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Peggy Evelyne, into the world. She arrived slightly earlier than expected - 4 weeks early and had to spend some time in the NICU ward. Thankfully everything is fine, she's strong, healthy and we're enjoying being a family. She's already met the horses and we’re hoping that she will become a little equestrian
With Peggy's arrival, our showing season has started late, but we did manage to take Hazel to the Bucks Spectacular Show, which was Peggy’s first horsey outing on the May Bank Holiday. Hazel went very well in a strong barren mare class against some beautiful Ds and came away with 4th place.
Over the past few weeks, I've started the groundwork with Hazel, ready to re-back her and break her in officially after lightly backing her last year. Mrs Jones has also started school with the basics and hopefully I will be sitting on her for the first time towards the end of summer.
Gwen has had a lovely long holiday whilst I was pregnant over the winter, and I've just started lunging her to develop her fitness until I'm back in the saddle.
Skye has been enjoying life and looking great for 26. Last week we celebrated our 20 year anniversary - it really does seem like yesterday since we bought her.
We do have some more shows in the pipeline and hopefully in my next blog we will have more to report.
Mel x
