Hi all,

Wow! Haven't we all been super-lucky with the warm weather until recently. Thankfully, with work as busy as ever, with lots of new babies arriving, I've been able to leave Johnny out 24 hours a day. This has been a Godsend, giving me time to ride rather than do the dreaded winter task of mucking out.

We have been enjoying our hacks and beach rides as always, but my favourite part of the year has started... trail hunting. We went to the opening meet and what a day we had with an early start to plait and get ready for the off at 10am. Johnny must have known where we were heading, as he loaded himself into the trailer that morning.

We arrived at the meet at 9.30 for port, the usual array of home-made delights and plenty of conversation. Johnny stood perfectly and watched the hounds meandering among followers, hoping for some dropped breakfast. The day was unseasonably warm, but the views were incredible over the Solway coast, as the sun glistened on the water. The fells behind were a gorgeous mix of autumnal shades. Needless to say, six hours in the saddle was enough for me, so we headed home with a big smile after a brilliant day.

Johnny enjoyed a well-earned day in the field on Sunday. Sadly, we haven't managed to venture out since, as I have been too busy with the cows. Only managing to get a hack in here and there - which I love doing -  has made me feel that it’s now time to find my beautiful boy his next home. I know that I have been putting off the inevitable for the past few months.

My increasing work load and not having as much time to spend with Johnny as I'd like, has made me realise that I need to find him a home where he will be given all time and love he deserves. It's been a tough decision, as Johnny has given me so much joy, but  I feel this is the right decision for him.

He has only been advertised for a short space of time, but I have been inundated with enquiries and have several viewings lined-up over the next week or two. Wherever he goes, I will stay in touch with his new family and follow his journey. I'm sure all of my fellow EquiGlo family will agree that our horses always come first, however heartbreaking the situation. For me this decision is about what's right for Johnny.

I'll keep you updated in the next few weeks as to his future. I will cherish the moments I have had with Johnny and been able to share with you all in our blogs. Wish me luck in finding him the perfect home

Much love,

Jess and Johnny

xx
