We had no competitions over August so Darwin and Latifa were just kept ticking over ready for September’s competitions.
We had a great August at home though and had friends come to stay with their horses for a long weekend and had lots of fun riding to our local woods.
It’s also given me a chance to work some more with my new young mare Bella. I picked her up at the end of May, an unbroken 4 year old. In the 3 months I’ve had her we’ve got her backed and riding out and even grown up enough to have her shoes put on.
She is proving to be a lovely horse and has fitted in well with the other 3. She will just be ridden on now quietly and will do maybe 2 or 3 endurance rides next summer.
We have a local challenge down in the southwest with Cornwall versus Devon, serious business!! I’m riding Darwin in the 80km class for Cornwall and my friend is riding Latifa as the 80km reserve. Will report about the results next month.
